The Province of BC along with the BC Ferry Service has announced that the new replacement ferries will be farm out to China for manufacture. This is being done while there are shipyards in BC that are perfectly capable of manufacturing the ferries here in our own province with BC Union Labour. The government seems to be ignoring the human rights violations and sub-standard products that are so prevalent in China in favour of saving money. Money spent on products made in BC will stay in BC with the workers spending their money supporting our local economy. Money sent to China is gone from BC forever. Please help support BC’s ship building business by letting your MLA know that we want the Ferries built in BC.
