Members At IG Machine Are Back To Work

0 0

The locked out members from IG Machine have ratified an agreement and are now back at work.
The agreement was accepted by 62% of the members with 33 of 34 eligible voters. IG Machine locked out the members last summer.
They had endured a summer of extreme heat and wildfires followed by a rainy fall and a cold winter.
The members were supported by locals from all over North America.
They were visited by other unions, some of which set up barbeques and other events.
Negotiated gains were improved language and wages for apprentices, increased safety allowance and improved vacation.
A complete union based benefit plan, full retro for the two years of negotiations and financial increases of .80/hr., 2%, 2.9%, 3%, 2.5%, 2.4% and 2.4%.
Overall the cost to the company and the membership far exceeds any gains either side may have achieved, the members stood strong together through these trying times.
The strength in the solidarity of these members is something the all members should be proud of.
Business Rep. Andrew Tricker and the members put in a lot of hard work and hours to achieve this agreement
